I earned my first “online income” when I went to work in 20 years ago working with best selling author, entrepreneur and agent of change Seth Godin at Yoyodyne, which was acquired in Q4 1998 by Yahoo! In 1997 I was looking for something exciting and new and was determined to move back to NY from South Florida and get back into the action. I decided this new thing called the “Internet” was the way to go. I read an article about Seth Godin and since he mentioned he was always on the lookout for talent I was determined to work with him at his start-up Yoyodyne. I sent resumes to probably 100 companies and when Yoyodyne called I knew it was meant to be.
I’ve had a front row seat to the evolution of online marketing from what was traditional media and commerce first experiencing the move to digital, which was nothing more than simple communication and catalog tools, to full fledged digital commerce and communication… and now scaled Social Communication which so wonderfully incorporates this Relationship component that is for me, the ultimate value. #NoLetUp!

I’ll never forget the first money I made online. It was $75 for sponsored content to promote a giveaway. It was a win for me and my readers as it was a great prize. I was contacted by the hostel, and without knowing what I was doing, I negotiated the deal with them. My blog was only 6 months old so it was a promising sign that I could turn this into a business. This was back in 2010 when travel blogging was still knew and there was not much information around on how to monetize.

“My first income online happened in February 2016 and the exact amount is $9.41. It comes from an affiliate sale I made for a product on ThemeForest. I only discovered it about a month later when I went on the site to check something. When I saw on the upper right corner a number that’s not $0, I was absolutely thrilled. I mean, almost 10 bucks! Making money online used to sound like a fairy tale, and I made it.
As for the process to earn that, I’m fairly sure it’s thanks to one of my social media channel. My blog was fairly new back then and there weren’t much in terms of organic traffic. Nowadays, my main source of income comes from SEO and keyword research.”

My very first try at making a living online was years ago, when I started creating and selling ebooks for virtual assistants. Basically, they could use this book to help them generate more clients; it was quite lucrative, but then I noticed social media’s huge potential – and I had to get right on that.

One of the smartest things I have ever done for my business is creating a well optimized real estate blog. This in fact has been the foundation of my success for many years. Entering the blogging world before many other real estate agents even considered it has been a God send. Given the length of time I have been pumping out quality real estate content, my digital footprint online can be seen in many places. The income I have generated from my blog has been phenomenal. In fact, I can attribute around a six figure income yearly to my real estate blogging efforts.
One of the things I would like to focus more on this year besides evergreen content is more community based information. While evergreen continue will continue to be useful for many years, local content has a place for capturing business as well. One of the better ways to do this is by creating well optimized local community pages. Consumers love to deal with a local real estate expert. Community pages allow you to show off your real estate expertise. Here is an example of a Realtors guide to Westborough Massachusetts Real Estate. Wouldn’t you agree if you want information on Westborough real estate or just some sound local advice, this would come in handy?
People love to work with people who are knowledgeable with their craft. My blogging will continue to provide information that answers peoples questions. I expect the income to follow.

The first ‘real money” I made online was through affiliate marketing, but the first ‘dollar’ I made online was actually through the AOL web diner where I would offer my design services to create 468×60 banners for other site owners. This was way before anything like Paypal was around, so people would actually send me a physical dollar in the mail. This was quite an exciting time, as I was still in high school at the time and concept of making money online was still relatively new. Once I started making a few dollars, it really fueled the fire to learn more and then I fell into the world of affiliate marketing right in its infancy (with Amazon.com and a few other programs). The rest is history!

When I started blogging, I was not known to the earning capability of blogging. I just started out to learn and share. Moreover, I later learned about Google Adsense, and technically the first earning started to come from Adsense but the first cheque I got of 9,898 INR after around 8 months. That means earning started in cents earlier but I got the amount after 8 months when the Adsense account reached in 7th month around $95 and in next month more to reach the threshold.
Apart from that, after starting out the blog, and working on it for around 5-6 months, I was contacted by a guy who offered a sponsored blog post. I didn’t have any idea about that but he did tell me that he will pay for posting article with his client’s link. That offer was of $40, and I consider it as the first earning which I got from the Sponsored post.
I was not known to the process but when the guy contacted, he told me that this is how a sponsored post deal is done. So, I did and made my first income online.

I’m not new to working for myself or freelancing gigs. The first time I made real money, I was 10years old. My dad’s associate would ask me to go do his grocery shopping and tell me to keep the change as a way of payment for the service. He explained to me that nothing is free and everything had a cost. And that it was natural in the business world. I was used to making pocket money even in elementary or high school, from guided tours to sponsored chess tournaments. But when I left for university, that secondary income stream disappeared. I was in a new city. I knew no one there. My scholarship would cover the housing expenses in the dorms and maybe some of the books and courses I needed. But pocket money? No way. So I remembered my brother’s stories from Uni of how the IT guys were making money working online on freelancing platforms. I thought, “Does it really have to be IT?”, and started looking for online gigs. My very first project that I won on my own was a copywriting project, that paid like crap. I worked so hard for 1 week to make my first $50 online. It was 2009. I then told myself, “There’s no way people are writing content on the web and get paid this little. I must be doing something wrong”. So I started looking for a better client. And found him. We worked together for about 4 months, until he told me I’m too smart to be writing crappy articles for him. Fast forward, 2017. That sentence got me where I am today, in a way. Thanks, Shaun, I’ll #neverforget.

Ages back, perhaps around 2003 – while checking my emails I saw an ad on the top that said we can have a free blog by clicking here. I thought I could write something and share it with the world, people will be able to read it online. I quickly jumped on it, it was a blogspot blog but I looked more and even found out Yahoo’s GeoCities free blogs which had been shut down some time back.
That was the time when I researched more about it all and found a survey site that used to pay money for surveys. I signedup and earned a dollar and wanted to verify if it was legit – so I quickly withdrew it via. check. Weeks later I got the check but you can’t get an international check cleared unless it is about $12, because there are some fees that needs to be cut … and the check was returned back to me. I worked on the site a bit more and reached $100 and made another withdraw – this time the check got cleared and I finally had the money!
From this I learnt quite a few things, firstly – as an Indian you are likely to get less survey offers so rather than doing the surveys yourself if you can refer people from the Western Countries then you will earn more. Money provides motivation like none other – and by the time I got the money cleared, I had already started making niche blogs and started several other ventures and startups that I had completely forgotten about those early incomes! Trying to remember about those now is like going through a really old memory lane!

My first online income was for paid content.
I was searching for ways to make money blogging when I came across a blog post that showed readers how they could monetize a blog by becoming an influencer and work with brands to promote their product. But there were some requirements I had to meet in order to be able to participate in influencer campaigns.
But it wasn’t until my second year of blogging when I finally qualified for my first sponsored campaign with a cereal brand. Before then I had worked on meeting the requirements they were looking for.
So I focused on growing my blog by engaging with other bloggers by reading and sharing their content, writing guest posts for other blogs in the same niche and sharing my content and other blogger’s content on social media.

My first online income came via affiliate marketing. Soon after starting my blog I started writing about some of the products I was using.
I’m still a big fan of the themes and plugins from ThriveThemes, so it’s appropriate that my first online income came from their affiliate scheme.
It’s always easier to write about products that you like and trust yourself. And when your audience sees your genuine enthusiasm then they’re more likely to buy the products, too.

I am a freelance writer specialized in creating expert roundups. I provide quality content, bring huge traffic and get backlinks. When I started I first created an expert roundup to launch my blog, and one of the experts that contributed to my post liked it and later she became my first client by hiring me to make a similar post for her. That roundup was very successful and things kinda took off and I started making roundups for other bloggers and companies.
If you want to earn money online providing services is the fastest way of building an income source.
Of course, you can monetize your site through other methods, like Adsense or affiliate links but it will take more time to get a consistent income from which you can support yourself.
It all depends on your skills. SEO is a great way of earning money as it is a very well-paid job but also pretty difficult. Other options can be graphic design, social media management (maybe it seems hard to believe but there are people that pay others to manage their Pinterest, Instagram or Twitter account or to moderate Facebook groups).
There are many ways of earning money online, you just need to work hard, keep learning and persevere.

My first online income came from Greg Narayan from Dear Blogger.
I had been reading articles on his site and I eventually caught his attention through all the comments I left. I then noticed he had no posting schedule and so I offered to help him develop one.
Ultimately, he hired me to help him with various things.
I did social sharing for him as well as blog post writing and editing.
I was a new entrepreneur at that time, and there are a few things I wish I would’ve done differently.
I shared the lessons I learned about earning online in 10 Lessons Learned from My First Freelancing Client (who was both My Worst and Best Client).

I remember getting my first check from Commission Junction in 2002 and thinking “Wow, this stuff is real. They actually pay me for just pasting an ad on my site.” I kept testing advertisers and researching what people were saying about the best affiliate networks on forums, directories and review sites and dived in. That was a long time ago but thinking back, that very first check had a huge impact on me and pushed me into a career in digital marketing.

I remember earning a very tiny commission for an affiliate product I was promoting to my very tiny email list.
Not a big deal, right?
Well it was.
I earned a couple bucks and proved to myself that “Yes, I Can Do It.”
I didn’t have a product yet, my email list was under 100 people, and I didn’t know anything about affiliate marketing.
Yet, I sent out an email to my list and made a few bucks.
Although I don’t recall the exact product or commission amount, I remember the “Yes, I Can Do It” feeling like it was yesterday.
I always infuse that “feeling” into everything I do in my online business.
It always reassures me, that whatever I’m working on… a blog post or a new product launch of my own… that I’m going to make it happen in a big way.
Ever since that first commission, my online business has been simply a matter of refining, redefining and scaling.
And a wonderful journey it has been.

My first income online was from Adsense.
I have a website which I put Adsense on it. and it made 30C$
I was not even thinking that it will make money, but I got an email from
Google, they wanted me to put my bank account information.
Which I did, but it took quite a while until it made enough money to get paid,
because the threshold is 100C$.
I started another website and a Facebook page and put Adsense on the site.
I did post the content on Facebook and when it I had enough likes I boosted the post.
I got good traffic and my first money from Adsense was around !60C$.
This was the first money I made online.
Getting traffic to a website by building an audience with a Facebook page works.

@christopherjanb https://amplifyblog.com/ My first online writing gig in 2007 paved the way for my success as a freelance writer. – Tweet this |
My very first online income came from a client I got from Craigslist in 2007. I was looking for ways to increase my income and banked on my writing skills to look for jobs anywhere. Lucky for me, the client was also in the Philippines who was also managing content for his clients. So he outsourced to me all the writing gigs he came across with.
As my first part-time job online, I wrote generic articles back when article directories were all the rage. The onus was placed on quantity and not quality, which explains the $5/1,000-word article rate.
Earning money from my first online job was difficult because the demand to deliver on time was high, in addition to the volume of work delegated to me. I remember getting scolded because I took portions from Wikipedia verbatim and pasted them into the article without properly editing them.
Despite the low rate and the growing pains, however, it was a great learning experience for me because I was able to sharpen my writing and researching skills, both of which are critical to my current success. My first job helped pave the way for more and better writing opportunities down the line.
Lesson: The first step is the hardest to take because you’re bound to make mistakes one way or another. At the same time, the first step is also the most important because your success on getting better online jobs depends on how much you learn from your experiences and use them as fuel to become better.

My very first online sale was my book on happiness. I had a makeshift website that I hand-coded using tables. This was back in 2001, long before anybody envisaged HTML5. The first sales were actually by driving traffic to the book’s pages on Amazon and iUniverse. I made $3.00/sale on iUniverse, and $2.00/sale on Amazon.
I followed up with Ezine adds and Clickbank (yeah, that was before the word “blog” existed).
I went on to hand-code two more websites before succumbing to more complex coding through CMS’s and professional help.
The book went on to sell several thousand copies. Enough to buy a few dinners, but not enough to make me rich. Most importantly, it was the foundation for an online career as a writer and as the head of a writing agency.
What’s the moral of the story? That first sale can be very important. It can launch a career. Don’t worry if you make only $2.00 or $3.00.

One of the reasons I moved to a self-hosted site was so I could start monetizing my blog. I soon started a blog coaching service.
I had a reader who had a friend who kept pestering him to improve his blog, so he hired me for blog coaching!
It was really rather funny. Instead of telling me what he wanted help with, he had his friend tell me what aspects of his blog to help him improve, so it was a three-way arrangement. For me, the online income’s always revolved around copywriting – it’s the best way I know to mix my passion for playing with words with work. I guess for most people, getting their first job happens via their network. It was kind of the same to me. After my first 12 months working as a marketer, I reached out to a marketing blog with a guest blogging idea. Turned out they loved the first article so much they wanted to hire me as a freelance writer. For rookie me, just 22 years old and living in Estonia, writing for one of the world’s top marketing blogs was huge. And it paid well. So here’s my recommendation: If you want to get your first online income, don’t expect it to find you – you’re the one who should make the first step and reach out to people.

My first sale online was a life-changing $0.87c which I made as an Amazon Associate – and when I say they were life-changing, I really do mean it!
It was only after months of hard work that these few cents came in and as of how the Amazon Associates works, it wasn’t even from products that I was promoting at the time.
I see those 87c as life-changing because I was days away from giving up once and for all but that sale came in and it immediately gave me the hope to keep going and keep growing. Thanks to those 87c, I now have multiple online affiliate incomes.

My first online income was with a UK network marketing company selling Lottery syndicate memberships. A trusted friend introduced me, and with the aid of my team I built a full-time income. That company closed, but I’m still working in an online MLM with many of those from the same team.
As I had very limited Internet skills, what I liked most about it was that all the technical bits of online marketing were done for me and I could just concentrate on promoting it by the method I enjoyed. At the time that was article marketing. Now it would be blogging. Other members of the team had different skills, so we all worked together with our own different marketing preferences. With the new company there’s even more “technical stuff” done for us, and it’s global. Also there’s free training to learn more about promoting the business.

My very first source of online income was from an affiliate link to a service that helps people find lawyers. It all happened because I wrote a blog post about how Getty Images will threaten to sue people who use their images in an unauthorized manner and started ranking immediately for the subject in search engines. Within a few weeks, my website was the top result in Google for the topic and I remember looking at the page (which was about 80% of all of my website traffic) and trying to figure out how to monetize it. I knew about affiliate marketing from a job I previously had, so I searched for programs and found one that paid $2.50 per lead. It wasn’t much, but I was able to make $12.50 my first month with the link on my website and to be honest, that was the most excited I’ve ever been to make so little money as it proved the concept.

Making money in this era of the internet is easy yet hard depending on your strategy and hard work. I made $200 when I was just a novice blogger a few years back.
I wasn’t so skilled to understand how affiliate marketing worked. I earned it by winning 10 days blogging contest which required the bloggers to contribute.
$200 for a beginner means a lot. After that I entered in the affiliate marketing and coding has always been my playful source of income. I develop custom WordPress themes from the scratch and use those on my clients’ website.
There are different options depending on your interest and skills.
Building a blog isn’t enough until you build your brand.
Affiliate marketing is easy only if you know your audience.
Freelance content writers are on demand but you need to build your portfolio first.
Web developers are having a fortune these days.
Learn to deal with the people, win their trust.
The biggest challenge is to face the ups and downs. Most of the people give up in a few months which is really disappointing.

So I dug out my credit card and got started, but after 16 months

I remember it was February 2012 when I made my very
first big ticket sale online.
It was a sale that put $3200 in my pocket.
This was from “One” Sale!
This sale and the ones that followed came from my Blog! I just got
this set up around Thanksgiving and in February I ran a Valentines

on FaceBook, Linkedin and Twitter.
I didn’t have any of the skills I have now.
Not a single one. I didn’t even know what a Blog was! But I knew
people were making money online and I for one knew I could to.
So I dug in and started training with some of the top marketers,
attending events and learningeverything I could about personal development,
marketing and mindset.
It has been a wonderful journey and I’m happy to say I am still making
sales and enjoying what I do here online and I don’t plan on stopping

When I was just getting started in the world of SEO, I was learning and testing my theories like crazy. I happened to be getting measured for my wedding tuxedo and the tailor overhead my conversation with my wife about SEO. He asked if I could help him come up on Google when people searched. I earned my very first money onilne as almost every business owner out there: I was hired by a friend before I even officially launched my business.
My very first money paid by a total stranger, though, was not an accident but a result of planning and targeted efforts.
My plan was (and is) to have a conversion-optimized website with minimum distractions and compelling copy, and then consistently publish 10x content based on thorough keyword research also actively sharing it on social media.
One morning three months after I launched my website, I woke up to an email inquiry about a website review from someone who read one of my posts on Google+. I ended up not only doing a website review for him but also implementing the changes I suggested on his website.
So if anyone still needs proof that content marketing works for small businesses, here you have one.

About 5 years ago, I left my job where I was working as a marketing manager and decided that I wanted to start my own Social Media Marketing business to help individuals and small businesses make a stronger impact for their brand using social media.
I had never started my own business before and the tools were familiar, but the process of being on my own was new to me.
I built my website, notified my network and within a couple weeks, I had my first client.
It was a small campaign, but it was the first $500 I had made using my own resources, my own strategy, and my own efforts as a social media marketer.
Now I run an international, boutique marketing agency, managing millions of dollars in advertising spend. However, I am grateful for my first sale as it was that which gave me the perseverance to push forward and allowed me to springboard my growth to where I am today.

I remember the days when I started blogging and earned $300 as a commission by promoting a web hosting company. It’s really motivates me a lot.
Affiliate Marketing is one of the best ways to make money online. I have started going affiliate marketing since the first days of my blogging. To become successful in affiliate marketing you have to first understand the needs of your users and then provide them with relevant and quality products.
Choosing a right product is very important if you are doing affiliate marketing. Many bloggers and marketers failed in affiliate marketing because they haven’t choose the right product.
I usually promote products by writing a review about them. I always try the products myself first and have mentioned everything thoroughly in my review posts like pros and cons etc. I am also using banner ads on my blog as it converts very well for me.
Email lists also help me to make money from affiliate marketing. I have started collecting emails since the first day of my blogging and it is very important if you are doing affiliate marketing or promoting anything else.
These are some of my proven methods to make money from my blog and affiliate marketing. Now I am also making money by selling ad spaces and sponsored posting. I hope it will encourage and motivates you as well.

I started my first internet business back in 2000. I built a site that was a directory of lawn care service providers in the US. I had no idea what I was doing and also didn’t know how to get traffic, much less turn that traffic into money. A friend of mine introduced me to SEO and everything changed. Once I could see what people were searching for I customized my content around those searches. I started to get real traffic, but I still didn’t know how to profit from it. I put some Amazon ads on the site and then my mind was blown when I saw a deposit of about $35 hit my account from Amazon. I couldn’t believe I had made money online. I was hooked and have never looked back. Luckily my monetizing skills have increased and I have been able to make a great living online since about 2006.

Maybe not my first, but for sure one of the most interesting ones.
After hosting workshops for founders offline, a couple of years ago one of my co-hosts and the original founder of these workshops, had the idea to take the experience online.
Building a community that helps founders help each other, learn and grow by paying it forward and sharing knowledge.
Of course, being big followers of the Lean Startup, we did not just want to build a product hoping people would come (and in case they didn’t lose a lot of money).
So we thought to ourselves, what could be the minimum to try and test the hypothesis if founders were willing to pay it forward and help other founders.
We had a Slack channel we used to communicate with ourselves around the workshops, and we decided to open it up for the world…putting a barrier in the front of a form people had to fill in with a motivation why we had to let them in.
Three days, a product hunt and some PR as a result later, we had around 1K of motivations to read through.
So we came up with the option to pay and skip the queue and earn some money for the non-profit we were running the community for. The problem? Everyone started paying, so we increased the price and eventually made the payment mandatory for everyone.
By now, it’s the biggest global startup community on Slack, nearing 7K members and still growing.

I started my working life as a hotel chef in Devon, that was all I’d wanted to do for as long as I can remember.
Life had other plans!
I was involved in an horrific head-on car accident at 19, caused by a drunk driver, and broke what felt like every bone in my body – both arms, both legs all in various places, some ribs and my back.
I was out of action for quite a while and due to my injuries, I was an insurance risk so unable to work in a kitchen again. It was a really tough time.
Years later, after a few dead-end jobs, I decided I needed to retrain. I was interested in computers and did various diplomas, one being in web design and html. Shortly afterwards I landed a job in a local web company and began my journey into the world of SEO.
Search Engine Optimisation was all quite new back then. Would you believe that not every business even had a website?! As you can imagine SEO was so much easier as the competition wasn’t nearly as fierce as it is today. SEO has changed enormously in the last 20+ years.
I learnt a lot about SEO during my time with the web company and became a real Google geek, staying on top of all the latest information, doing my own experiments and watching as the sites I worked on hit the first page of Google for their best search terms. Life was good.
6 years ago the web company went bust and I lost my job just like that – no warning, nothing.
It’s safe to say I was more than a bit worried. I spent two days deliberating, before deciding to do it on my own. SEO+ was born (Google+ was quite a recent thing back then so I jumped on the ‘+’ bandwagon!!)
I worked hard, very hard and SEO+ began to grow and became a thriving and successful SEO UK company that competes with the bigger and well known SEO companies.
SEO+ is now a powerhouse of talent and works with clients in various industries and sectors throughout the UK. We have a reputation for providing no-nonsense SEO that works and I’m very proud of the results that we achieve for our clients.

When I got my masters degree in computer engineering, Europe faced with financial crises and as a result it affected on
Norway’ economy as well. I applied for jobs 24/7, but i kept getting rejections. Unemployment rate was very high back then. I was working on a humanoid robot project called “majo 3” who could talk in two languages Norwegian and American English and walk. I notified Toyota company in Japan in order to send them my first prototype. They agreed. I finished the programming part but for silicon body parts i needed money to purchase from the U.S. I came across a new microblogging social site called Twitter. I became a member and started Tweeting about everything. I tweeted about SEO, motivational statements and my robot project. Nobody was thinking of selling anything on Twitter back then.
Three months later I landed my first sell which was SEO for a Danish ecommerce company in Denmark. He signed a 3 months contract to test the water. I worked very hard on his SEO project and landed some sales for him. He became so happy that we signed a two years contract. And this is how i became financially independent. Later my Danish client referred me to other ecommerce owners and I was able to expand my business beyond Europe. Then i got a major project which was outsourced to me from a media agency in London. It was a multilingual SEO project for Expedia. Today my clients are from everywhere Europe, North America and even Asia.

I was 13 years old and didn’t even know what I was doing at the time was SEO + Affiliate marketing because they really didn’t have “terms” then. What I would do is newsjack any hot item (e.g. clinton/lewinski scandal) and create a splash page for it with an “enter”her button like all old sites used to do. This site would rank in webcrawler.com real well with just a few meta data tweaks. People souls find the site, click to enter, and then go to a porn affiliate. I got .50 per click which was great when I was coming home with $20 checks monthly at 13. My mom had no idea where the money was coming from.

My very first online income was earned while I was a freelance virtual assistant 7 years ago. I’ve been applying for content writing jobs in Odesk (now Upwork) to get a few writing gigs in college then I stumbled upon a content writing opportunity from an Asian employer. Grabbed it and had my first income – $100 for 50 hours of work. Nothing huge at the start.
The process that I used to get my very first online income:
Choose a niche that you think you can deliver an output (doesn’t necessarily be your expertise already, but is something you can start right away with your basic skills).
Apply to freelancing platforms like Upwork. Don’t create a website if you haven’t developed skills yet unless you have basic web development/design and blogging skills to start a new website.
Get your first freelancing job and grow from there.

This “How did you make your first dollar online” kind of topic will make a great episode for my online business podcast and the story I have to tell you is a very cool one indeed. Mainly because I started making money online even before Google existed! (Needless to say, that makes me feel really old.) It was through affiliate marketing and I was promoting online gambling.
Back then, when it started for me, I began looking for ways to make money online. Most of them came from MLM (multi-level marketing) companies where you had to get referrals to sign up via your unique link.
Your referrals would try to get their own referrals that would become your sub-referrals and the cycle would continue on. This kind of marketing wasn’t so controversial at the time (maybe because they were just starting out) but it wasn’t really paying off so I tried different possibilities.
I found out that some online casinos had affiliate programs and decided to join them. I promoted my unique affiliate URLs, got them to reach the top rankings in the pre-Google search engines (yes, that was possible then) and started earning my generous commmissions. Unfortunately today, their commission model along with many online gambling companies is long gone.

I first started making money online using AdSense (which was around $100) and that was a lot for me back then.
Since then, blogging has evolved a lot. AdSense is not a viable option for most bloggers now a days unless they are in a news or technology industry. For me, as someone who’s into marketing industry, affiliate marketing works really well.
But you’ve to be really careful while using affiliate marketing. It’s not easy to make money from it but if you write really good in-depth case studies like this one, you can definitely drive more sales and traffic from search engines.

When I first got into online sales, it wasn’t because I thought my career would be in digital marketing – it was because I wanted to make a quick buck and get rid of some of my stuff. I heard about this site called eBay and had used it a few times to buy posters and a few shirts but had never sold anything myself. I always had a pretty strong collection of video games and thought one of the best ways to make a quick dollar might be to flip them. My entrepreneurial journey started when I launched an online rap magazine back when I was still in college. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, and I would have done things so much different knowing what I know now. I just had some basic AdSense ads on the site and hoped to make money that way. It took me at least 6 months to get enough traffic to even earn $100 in ads. After that, we did have some growth and even sold some direct ad placements and sponsorships. My very first business online income was possibly the hardest dollar I ever earned, yet the experience taught me how to make a fortune online.
In 1999, I launched the site UCanBuyArt.com, which was designed to showcase original art from artists and galleries from around the world.
There were a few problems with the business idea. First, I didn’t know anything about art and second, didn’t know any artists. However, I was very determined to make the business successful. The business model at the time was to charge artists a small fee to list their art on the web site and a small commission if that artwork sold. To find artists I made hundreds of cold calls and literally drove to artists homes and asked them to join the site. It was time consuming and most artists at the time didn’t even understand what the Internet was. Also, I had to convince them to join a site which needed visitors and I had no money to pay for advertising for the site. I had a little experience with SEO and was able to get the site to rank for many art related keywords. So it was getting about 3000 unique visitors per day and managed to get about 300 artists to join. After a year’s work I was able to eek out a small living from the memberships and sales. However, the skills I learned in marketing and driving business to the site turned out to be extremely value. The art site’s online exposure lead to companies asking if I could do the same for their businesses. Since that time, I have marketed thousands of businesses and become the SEO guru of marketing. All this came from hard work and persistence and learning what works and what doesn’t online. Now it is much easier to get the same success as I had to work years to achieve. There are vast amount of resources to learn the skills I had to learn from painful trial and error. Overall I wouldn’t have changed the experience, though sometimes I wish I could have had a mentor like myself, instead of having to learn things on my own.

This had me scratching my brain to remember, but my very first online income involved editing concert footage for a DVD release. I seem to remember it was quite out of the blue, friend of a friend sort of thing.
Since then, I’ve learned many times that these happy coincidences can’t be relied on to make a living in the online world – marketing yourself online take real intentionality. For word to spread about your service, you need to nail two basics – create a fantastic service that has benefits that immediately set you apart from the competition. Then get people talking about it – it doesn’t matter how brilliant you are if they haven’t heard of you. I’ve found that taking the time to reach out on an individual level makes all the difference to how you’re perceived – be genuine! If you’re not, people will see straight through your sales talk.

“I made my first money online two months after blogging. I started blogging 4th March, 2015 and I made my first money online, May 31st, 2015.
I saw an advert on a forum where someone was looking for a writer to write for a tech blog.
I knew nothing about tech blogging or writing web content but I applied to write for the blog.
To my surprise, the guy accepted that I write for him. I was given 5 topics to write on and submit.
At first, I thought it was a scam but the guy assured me that he could be trusted.
He agreed to pay #600 ($2) for an article. So, the five articles were priced at #3000
($10). I was so excited because that was my first time of writing for a pay.
At that time, I was still on my day job, so, I submitted the first article very late.
Though the client was impressed by my work, he was displeased that I had submitted it rather too late.
The contract was terminated. I was paid for just one article.
Instead of $2, I was paid $3 because my work exceeded his expectation.
That is it.
My first income online was #1000 ($3) from writing. It took me a very long time to make money again because, at that time, I was still working as a classroom teacher.
I quit my day job over a year ago to focus on my online business.
Right now, I’m a full-time blogger.”

Adding a list of recommended business books to my Resources page, someone bit within a couple of days and purchased one of my recommendations via my link to Amazon.com. It takes a relatively longer time to land the first client online, but it deserve the effort, as a new business line is created and more money will start to flow.
Then, I moved to other ways to make money online, some failed, and the other some paid dividends, providing effective seo services is one of these great ways.

My very first online income was something around $100 for around my first 10 months of blogging.
Just to let you know I skipped my blogging for straight 6 months right after my 7th month of blogging. But later on back to work with more dedication and strategies.
Google AdSense was the source of my first online income. Before starting my blogging career I was into SEO job for around 2 years and that is where I find out about AdSense and other online income sources.
To be very frank the process to earn my first income was not so struggling as I was not doing it in the right way. But the actual struggling part is going on right now as I am fixing my past work which was not on the right track.
My blogging startup was aimless but now I have a list of my short term and long term aims right in front of me.
It’s been more than two years since I have quit my 9 to 5 job and started with blogging. Blogging is time-consuming and this is the fact that can’t be ignored.
Blogging is easy if you go by rules and be ethical with your SEO. But it is also the most difficult thing to achieve if you are aimless or try to achieve it the unethical way.
My past job background was in SEO. I know how Google update can take down a well settled SEO firm over a single night. That’s was the strongest reason I choose to start with blogging.
My blogging rules are simple I only do pure blogging, it will take time but it will be a strong one. I only do required SEO optimization on my blog without any tricks, to avoid Google penalties.

My first online income came from a listing I had placed on Etsy. I still remember being so thrilled by the “cha-ching!” sound that came from the Etsy app on my phone letting me know that someone had made a purchase. It made me so proud that someone wanted to pay for something that I had created from start to finish.
My first stream of income from an online source was via Etsy. I’d known about Etsy for a long time, but it took a lot of reading up on various blogs about the subtle nuances of making each listing “pop.” I quickly learned about how SEO, keywords, and stellar pictures make all the difference in getting my product in front of as many people as possible. There are so many amazing Etsy storefronts who really showcase their work in unique and innovative ways that I know I wanted to be one of them. After improving my Etsy storefront over time, I switched over to a dedicated website that I’m proud to say I designed myself (with Shopify’s help!). I started my entrepreneurial journey with blogging about my learnings on online marketing. I wrote about what I was seeing other people do and put Adsense on the blog to monetize it.
That worked out somewhat nicely, I got to $150-$200 per month within three or four months – which is faster than most bloggers I guess. However, at that time I was employed at business consultant and wanted to quit that job badly.

About first online income, me along with my friends built a tool Exporttweet – a twitter analytics tool. This tool analyzes and generates reports based on twitter data and provide lots of useful insights to our online customers. The website is made on “E-commerce” model.
The idea to built this awesome tool came from the fact that twitter users can not extract twitter data and analyze it by themselves because twitter analytics have lots of restrictions.
About the tool, Exporttweet is a tool where you can fetch and analyze tweets of any twitter account, hashtag or keyword, track the tweets in real-time and historical and export followers and followings details along with their growth rate.

I found my first virtual job on Craigslist; they were looking for a phone handler, virtual secretary, so I sent my CV and cover letter. This was before virtual online employment agencies started popping up. I soon received news from the owner’s assistant that she was setting me up for a phone interview with the owner. It was a real estate and investment company combined, so I received a lot of different types of inquiries.
By the end of my time there, which I think was about two years (they eventually closed down) I was one of the team leaders, team monitor, taking the morning team meeting notes, counting and approving everybody’s hours at the end of the week and reporting them to the accountant, the HR person, as well as posting ads looking for new team members and investors. This was a great opportunity for me to turn this into a business at which point I started building custom computers. I would build computers and also drop-ship computer components on my eCommerce store. The market for computers has changed dramatically and my interest have changed so I have shifted focus. It did give me a great basis of knowledge for how eCommerce works though.

The source of my very first online income, aside from my day job in digital marketing, came from SEO consulting gigs I acquired through my personal website. I first learned about SEO consulting by working for marketing agencies in Chicago. In these marketing positions, I became familiar with the practice of optimizing websites for search engines and for users.
I then established my own website, optimized it for the keyword “Chicago SEO consultant,” and, soon after, ranked first in Google for that search. Almost immediately, people began contacting me looking for SEO help for their websites. My first SEO consulting gig in which I earned money involved increasing the page speed of a slow loading site.

My 1st online revenue was for a Facebook ads consultation conducted via Skype, and paid via PayPal. The best part about this experience was that the client paid for the call ahead of time, which every consultant loves! The key to this is setting up your payment processing before you promote. I used the Book Like a Boss scheduling software and promoted via guest blog post on Social Media Examiner.

It was in 2007 when I was starting my SEO practice. I advised often to my dad (he is a joiner) with his company website and also to his colleagues and friends because SEO was just fun for me that time. After some time one company noticed that there are some organic visible craftsmen and asked them who helped them with their website. And that’s how I got to my first job. I got for my first job only 30$ but it was a lot of money for me in that days (I was just 16 years old). After that I cooperated with this company for next 6 years until I went to another company.

Logo Design Contest
First Source of Income was the hardest part as I was in learning stage back in 2011, My first mini income was from online design contest from freelancer and since then, I never looked back.
Well, I use to have an old laptop with no other resources at all and sitting in the corner of the room thinking all day that I should start something online for part-time income but, As soon as I receive my first ever design contest payment I was like, “OK! You can do it” and it was really not that simple at all but, Patience is the key to success.
I started few of design blog thinking I might start guiding people about design as I love to teach other but, it was a big fail but, at that time I was constantly earning good money from freelancing websites.
In 2016, I started my personal blog Graphicspsd in which I am currently working. Now, I am a regular seller on creativemarket, design bundle, and similar design sharing websites and running my personal YouTube channel so that people can learn new things.
The main thing is Always to do what you think is best for you and never look back. Keep that in mind that first income is always hard as you are in the learning stage and I was in the same situation but, I kept adding design concepts on different logo design contest and with the same time I kept learning different tools & software like adobe illustrator and photoshop.

I earned my first online income by writing content for business blogs. I used a bunch of sites, like UpWork, SkyWord, Contently, LinkedIn and more to find my first client, met with him to discuss his needs, wrote a few posts and that was that! He was able to share industry insights and I was able to get the post where it needed to be after a few rounds of editing.

I made my first income online through Elance.com writing blog posts for a small business. The pay was terrible, but I bid really low in order to get my first job and build up the positive reviews on my profile. From there I was able to take on bigger projects and charge more, and eventually started pitching clients on working with me full-time on retainer. That was the star of my consulting business!

I think the first money I ever made online (besides selling a few things on eBay) was writing articles for folks on DigitalPoint. They didn’t pay much—probably around $1/100 words—but the fact that I could sit at home on a laptop and earn money whenever I wanted got me hooked. Nowadays I write solely about SEO/marketing, which is much more fun than writing washing machine reviews for a couple of bucks!

For years I tried making money with Google Adsense, Amazon Affiliate, and various other programs where you can make a few cents here and there, or a small percentage of a sale.
This was a total waste of time. Those ships have sailed – and now the incomes generated from Adsense for example is dominated by professionals who know how to rank for keywords, optimize their pages for keywords and clicks, and whose entire livelihood depends on getting the traffic and converting it to clicks. In other words, an amateur is up against the pros from day one.
So counter intuitively, it was actually easier for me to make my first $100 online than it was for me to make my first few measly pennies online…
By learning how to position and sell my own information products, and higher commission affiliate offers. Nothing under 50% commission (and that’s why I offer 50-75% commissions as well). By niching down and selling very specific solutions to very specific problems, I don’t need 10,000 visitors just to make a few bucks. Instead, with a small amount of visitors who are very motivated to solve a problem, I can sell them directly a solution priced between $17-$1497 (depending on the package) – and keep between 50-100% of the money.

My ebook, “Awakening to the Healing Powers Within: An Energetic Guide on Self-Healing”, http://bit.ly/selfhealingebook, along with a guided meditation, http://bit.ly/meditation4sleep, were my first online sales. I was inspired to create both by my spiritual guides. It was the first time I had really allowed myself to quiet my mind and allow my inner guides to basically write the book and guided meditation for me. It only took about a month to write and I was amazed at how easy it was to let go and allow it to unfold.
After I completed the ebook and guided meditation, I had to find a way to offer it for sale online. One of my hobbies was creating websites so I quickly set about learning how to put a shopping cart on my site. It took awhile to set it up but after it was done, the process to buy online was really simple and intuitive for people to do. Within a week of it being up for sale, I sold my first ebook and guided meditation. I was so excited when I received the shopping cart email telling me that I made a sale! Yes, I love helping people and yes, I love getting paid to do it!

The first time I generated money online was through the promotion of an PC Lan party. This was circa 1998 and Internet connections were pretty dreadful around that time. Dial up modems. Or, if you were fancy, ISDN lines. I was not fancy but still had an ISDN line whilst studying. Just no money for food. Priorities hey. At the time we played the team deathmatch component of the video game Half Life. And we were in a few leagues. Most notably the Half Life Clan Collision League (HLCCL).
The Internet connections were not really up to scratch at the time. So, it was much better if you could network the computers. Which I was doing a bit with friends. So, we decided to run a larger Lan party for our friends in the HLCCL. We did not know these people in real life, only via the forums and message boards (early social media). So, we got a venue and some equipment and planned an event. We then promoted that and filled it through the people we knew on the message board.
At this time I was studying computer science (Bsc Hons). So, was not really thinking about marketing or SEO or any of the work I do now. But it did get my marketing gears going and to promote future events I was soon playing with SEO. I guess this set me on sale for my career as a digital marketer and for my initial computer programming job to kind of segway into search engine optimisation. The rest is history.
So now I spend my time trying to help small business owners with their SEO – whether that is through the SEO tips we publish or people that actually work with my SEO agency, Bowler Hat.

I sold small artifacts celebrating 1st of March
I used to have a website for Romanian emigrants. There is also a tradition among Romanians to offer small artifacts to women on 1st of March and I seized the opportunity: I created those small artifacts myself and then used my site to advertise this. The whole process was very basic as it was about 15 years ago. I received payments via PayPal, manually checked the order details and then sent envelopes to different countries around the world. I made about $100 in a couple of days but unfortunately not being an ongoing business opportunity I had to drop it 🙂

My very first online income was 3 years ago. I had just created my blog and wrote an article stating that I was a ghostwriter with some details about the process. Within 24 hours someone replied and told me they wanted to hire me to write their book. He signed the contract the same day, and paid the next day. This was a $10,000 job! That was also my first significant ghostwriting assignment. From there, I wrote his book, which was a novelized version of how his business worked to help customers, showing a company before, during and after his process.

My very first online income, came from a post I created on “how to remove fake google+ reviews”. Working as an SEO consultant in Birmingham, I would have many local companies getting in touch in regards to having become the victim to fake reviews on Google. Sometimes it would turn out to be a competitor, or sometimes it would be a complete stranger that the business owner had never heard of before. So I decided to create a post, to help other people around the web, get rid of their fake reviews. It very quickly jumped to #1 on Google and I started getting over 1000 visitors a month to that post alone. A few days later, I received my first enquiry, from a woman who had read my post but wanted me to help instead of her doing it for herself. and that is how I made my very first online income.

I was one of the first people to make money online – continuously. In 2001, I started PR LEADS, a publicity service that matches reporters with experts. I charged $250 for a three-month subscription. T After 2 1/2 months, I’d call the client and ask if they wanted to renew. That all changed when a mastermind partner suggested I use the subscription model used by magazines and gyms: charge them until they tell you to stop. This tactic automated my business and freed me up from asking for renewals.

The old saying, “If you build it, then they will come,” doesn’t work concerning online book sales. I wrote my first book back in 2000. I was disappointed that working with a major publisher didn’t automatically generate sales. Six books later, I’ve realized that you need PR to build credibility, thought leadership and drive traffic to your website for people to learn more or to make a purchase.
Here are a few tips. One of the best ways to boost your book sales is to get on stage and share your thought leadership with different groups and organizations. Talk about your book and educate and offer advice to others. Speaking engagements help to get the word out especially with conference organizations promoting you to their professional networks via online and social media channels.
Of course, working with bloggers and the media demonstrates the power of the third-party endorsement. Influencers get people to take action, which could mean their community members sharing information about your book, raising more awareness and possibly more sales.
Lastly, getting people to review your books on Amazon and other review sites may prompt potential readers to purchase their copies. It’s always better when someone else recommends your work. The lesson I’ve learned about book sales is that displaying your books online won’t get you very far unless you are J.K. Rowling or James Patterson. PR can go a long way to building your credibility, thought leadership, and an online income.

For eight summers, my family and I had the incredible opportunity of living in the south of France. While visiting 1000-year-old villages, we immersed ourselves in the culture. I purchased colorful costume jewelry that I had never seen before in the U.S.
Each fall, when I returned to New York City, women continually asked if they could purchase the jewelry. I said, “I’m sorry, I just bought these for myself.” So, I started thinking about what I could do. I knew nothing about the retail industry (except shopping).
The next summer, while in France, I met with different artisans and learned about buying, wholesale, merchandising, and selling. Minimum purchases were 1500 euros. I decided to give it a shot, and created a small collection of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Then, tried to figure out how I would go about selling it.
With a partner, we started attending small local community shows in Boston, and New York. We had no idea how to display the jewelry. We arranged it on mirrors. Amazingly, we sold $8,000 worth of jewelry at our first show. It was exciting, and reinforced that were on to something.
Over time, I learned what would sell, and in what quantity, how to best work with customers, and the french jewelry designers. There was a learning curve, but it was exciting.
After, we were invited to do shows for employees at Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Glamour, in New York City. With this third-party credibility, it was easier to market the business, and get selected for large holiday shows at investment banks, hospitals, clubs, and private parties.
Later, I started an e-commerce business selling jewelry on-line to people throughout the U.S. I photographed all the jewelry, described what the stones were, where they came from, the artisans, and the towns. I created a simple website. What stood-out was our tagline, “Jewelry imported from France, not available in the U.S.”
The business lasted for some ten years. As the euro became stronger against the dollar, and other personal commitments, I had to give it up. Sometimes, while traveling, I meet people who say, “Aren’t you the jewelry lady?” Not formally, but I’m a real francophile. When I look back, I think, what an amazing journey.
Today, customer experience is a trend, and a buzzword. I learned about it way back when; just helping another person feel good about themselves, and their purchases.

In 1994 my PR firm, Westwind Communications was hired by Jon Zeeff an early internet pioneer and creator of the first Mall on the Internet called the Branch Mall.
I saw an article in INC Magazine about this genius who found out how to sell things online. This ‘mall’ was the precursor of Amazon.
http://www.nytimes.com/1994/06/19/business/getting-down-to-business-on-the-net.html?pagewanted=all
Since we lived 20 minutes apart I called him up and said let’s meet up. That led to my firm promoting his mall and then a client’s company hiring him to send the first Christmas Card on the internet. We used the ‘crazy idea’ of sending a Christmas Card electronically to promote the Christmas Light Show at Dominos Farms, the world headquarters of Dominos Pizza. (see attribution below) http://www.westwindcos.com/biography/
My own first cash sale online was in 1995 when I advertised a side business that I operate called Westwind Hot Air Balloon Co. We offer
hot air balloon rides over the woods, streams and parks in Michigan near Ann Arbor. The first sale was $395. At the time it was so novel that it was just hard to fathom how it worked. Now, virtually all my PR business and Hot Air Balloon ride business comes from the Internet. We couldn’t live without it.

In 1999 I launched a gourmet food business called Pepper Jam. To promote the product I came up with the idea to interview celebrity chefs and post those interviews on the pepperjam.com website. Within short order those interviews began to rank for high traffic terms and traffic to the pepperjam site increased exponentially. The traffic growth inspired me to look for ways to monetize the traffic beyond just selling product so I launched some ads from ValueClick. In my first month I made $33! Not much, but from there I learned how to generate more traffic to sites via SEO and paid search (GoTo.com back then). Within 6 months I was generating thousands per month and within a year or two I was generating hundreds of thousands per month. All of this inspired me to launch the digital marketing agency and affiliate network called “Pepperjam” which would go on to be one of the fastest growing digital marketing agencies of all time. I sold the company to eBay Enterprise (GSI Commerce) in 2009.”

Back in very early days of the internet, I was part of some Compuserve forums. These were simple text-based notice boards and chats. A notice on a writers forum asked for someone to compile thousands of general knowledge questions for new, Las Vegas electronic pub quiz machine. $1 a question. Each question needed four potential answers: a wrong one, two possible right ones and one that was correct. There was no google, no wiki. So the work meant going to the library and researching the data, old school. But then submitting online and receiving payment electronically. At no point did I ever see or talk to another human being. I got my first taste of how liberating, magical and isolating online commerce could be!

My very first online income was from a web directory I set up many years ago. It was back in the days when links from web directories count towards SEO. I found out about the fact that you can generate income from a web directory from a webmaster forum.
I basically bought a directory script, customised it, host in and set up a PayPal account to collect payment from users submitting their website to the directory. Once I check that the was good, I basically approve the site for inclusion in my directory and that is it!
After that I added featured listing option and those who paid additional money were able to get a link from high PR inner page or even homepage. The competition in web directory niche was very high but if you were lucky to rank high for some potential keywords you could expert good online income.

My very first online income was selling my ¢.97 Wanted Hero digital comic books in PDF format. This was in 2004, before there were eReaders, before the Kindle was invented (2007) and really before downloadables had caught on.
The challenge for me was that no one had tried to do what I was attempting (that I knew of). There were no guru’s, pro’s or professionals I could call upon and no courses or webinars to take. In fact—all the so-called pro’s I did meet online said what I planned couldn’t be done!
I was a cartoonist who couldn’t break into the traditional comic book industry, so my father suggested I try to find a way to sell my comics online. Without experience building websites (it was almost exclusively HTML back then), I had my idea bid by programmers.
They wanted $20,000 for what I outlined!
Needless to say, I told them to bugger off. Instead, I checked out every programming book I could find at the library to build my Wanted Hero website myself. It was art heavy, had a message board attached to it…but it was awesome. For the store, I used Linklok Paypal from Vibralogix to sell the downloads.
I planted seeds of interest around the internet by hanging out on message boards with people who loved comic books. I’d start conversations and tell them I was creating comic books online—which was pretty much unheard of at that point in time. The other thing I did was create podcasts, using voice changing software, so I could have my characters interviewed by my 12 year old daughter.
Everything I did—every conversation I had, every post I made, article I wrote and podcast I made pointed back to the page where I sold comics. I even made humorous commercials which would get shared all over the internet.
The results were amazing. By the end of the first year I had 750,000 visitors to my website, 29,000 registered users on the message board and my comics were shared on Facebook before it was open to the world (just between colleges).
In less than 11 months, I was selling my black and white comics in 60 countries.
Results: The whole process was a hit. Each comic sold for ¢.97 of which I earned ¢.64 after Paypal fees. Due to the volume of sales, I was able to support my wife and 6 children as the sole source of income for 2 1/2 years.

Making money online is not as easy as most people thought. Many believed that immediately you venture into an online business, then the money will start coming in. That is quite untrue, because t takes dedication, determination, patience and time.
I ventured into online business the year 2015, and till date i am still flourishing in it.
My first online income was gotten that same year 2015, though some few months from when I started. It was just $50, but it is really worth it. I actually earned that amount from sponsored content that was published on my health blog. A content marketing firm based in the UK contacted me through my email and requested that a client of theirs wished to publish his content on my blog. It was a dream come true and I couldn’t afford to reject the deal.
That was how I got my first income online.

I started online with Affiliate Marketing. I learned you could easily earn a passive income with Digital Products. All you had to do was send the right type of traffic, lots of it, to the right offer, and you make money. That is what I learned and what I did to start making money online. Of course, it is easier said than done. You have to do the right process, build a buyers list, etc. It did take me a lot of trial and error, and a very long time, to finally make my first sale online. But, after that first sale, that is all she wrote. I cracked the code of making money online, went passionately into blogging, and here I am today as a self-employed blogger / freelancer. I owe everything to the digital business and affiliate marketing.

My very first online sale was for about $15. It was on one of my first sites back in 2014. The site was in a gaming niche and was about 3-4 months old at the time of the sale.
The sale came from a roundup-type post where I listed the niche’s best product providers (or companies).
I didn’t know how to promote content or do any social media marketing at the time, so all the site’s traffic came from search. I wasn’t even doing any link building either. So it was pretty surprising.
The lesson…creating high-quality content can generate traffic and sales. Especially in a not-so-competitive niche.

Back in 2005 I bought my second service based franchise and within 3 years it was running itself, with over 30 employees and a team of managers.
I was bored and wanted to do something different, but wasn’t sure what.
While at our annual franchise conference, I heard a consistent complaint about the cost of supplies increasing in 2008, while the economy was decreasing.
By the end of the weekend I circled back with 25 of the different franchisees and asked if I could save them at-least 10%, would they purchase from me?
After receiving confirmation, that Monday when I was back in my office, I was on the phone reaching out to wholesalers and suppliers.
I partnered with another individual, who built the worse looking, yet functional website and my first online business was born.
We had 3 products on the site and I reached back out to each of the franchisees who confirmed they would buy if the price was better (which it was).
We began running PPC campaigns, I was cold calling, sending out direct mail, blogging and many other strategies to drive traffic to our site.
Within 3 years we expanded to over 200,000 products and was ranked the 144th fastest growing U.S. business by Inc. Magazine.
4 Quick Lessons:
1) Good is better than great. Our site looked terrible, but we launched and improved as sales rolled in and feedback was received from our customers.
2) Opportunities are everywhere, if you just listen to the market and what they ask for.
3) All Experts were once beginners also. It’s o.k. not to know a darn thing about what you’re doing. If you’re passionate, hustle and ask the right people for help, you’ll be o.k.
4) Year 2 in your business will look very different than day 1 (guaranteed). The only way to get to year 2 is to start today.

My very first income online was actually service based. For years I had been selling face to face. I initially cut my teeth on direct response marketing. Then as the internet took over more and more I simply applied the same strategies to our clients and our own business.
Build a database – make offers to that database.
The same old basics – which work offline, online and will continue to do so for a long time yet.
So the first sale I ever made online was actually for a link building service but the product/service is actually irellevant.
To make a sale online what you really need is traffic.
Get hungry traffic whatever ways you can (PPC, Social Media) but the best ways to drive traffic is from a list or database you have built yourself.
People think they need to have the perfect product this, perfect promotion that… but if people just spent half the time worrying about the product and simply focused on providing value to the marketplace and building relationships and in the process a list of subscribers products come easy.
You simply find the common need in your subscriber based and make an offer to them to fix it!
Do the groundwork of building Trust and Authority in your market and sales will come easy!

I remember it was on Click Bank for marketing of the digital products there on my blog. It was a great milestone. It didn’t happen overnight. The first sale required a lot of time to happen, but I was determined to complete that route to the end. Then, I moved to include some reviews where I try to guide and educate the user as possible to help him take the right decision. That worked for me like a charm!
I found educating people sells. Build a trust relationship and it will pays off.

Though I am not a full time blogger, I am very passionate about blogging and affiliate marketing and it leads me to earn my first payment from Commission Junction(CJ).
I sold few hosting account and couple of domain name via CJ. The best part was I did not even spent much time to promote the products and made the sales via email marketing and social media.
Thank you,
