Hey Amplifiers!
Today is Monday and the Interview Series has a new guest!
Last week we featured Carolyn, which was the first interview of this series.
Today, our guest is Ryan Biddulph. Ryan is a blogger, a traveler, an author of several travel books and most importantly – he is an island hopper!

Q1: Introduce yourself to the AmplifyBlog Community. Tell us how you got started, what challenges you faced early on etc.
Hi guys! My name is Ryan Biddulph. I’m an island hopping pro blogger.
I got fired from my security guard job and as for challenges…everything lol. Traffic, comments, blogging income, I had ugatz. Or, none.
Q2: Tell us about your blog, how it got started?
I created Blogging From Paradise by mixing my loves of travel and blogging.
I’d been blogging from places like Fiji and Bali for years. I chose to mix the 2.

Q3: What motivates you to keep going?
Not much motivates me, really.
I blog for the fun of it, mainly, so since I enjoy having fun with writing and traveling, I keep writing and travelling.
Q4: What are some of the blogs that you follow?
Zac Johnson’s Blogging Tips Dot Com.
Darren Rowse’s Pro Blogger.
I also re-read my posts, so I guess my blog too hahaha.
Q5: Do you have a mentor? Or someone you look up to.
Really, I focused on the moment. Meaning, I learn from mentors all around me, including newbieโs, pros, and all in between.
Zac and Darren are guys I learn from. But I also learn from struggling bloggers. Each teaches me lessons which help me to inspire my readers.
Q6: What are some of your content amplification strategies? What are the various sources that you use to promote your articles?
- I RT others frequently and chat with folks on twitter to drive twitter traffic.
- I respond to Likes and comments to drive Facebook traffic.
- I comment on top blogs to drive blog traffic.
- I even wrote an eBook on that one; How to Build an Online Empire through Blog Commenting.
Q7: What is your advice to new bloggers?
Blog for fun. Follow your fun.
What can you talk about all day long? Take that topic, and blog about it.
This passionate energy helps you leap frog all obstacles and stuff that hurts most bloggers.
Q8: What is your biggest fear?
It has grown smaller and smaller over the years but I still fear failure sometimes.
I genuinely focus on the moment though. On having fun. On being appreciative. These energies help me dissolve many fears which handcuffed me in the past.
Q9: How do you maintain a work life balance?
Meditating helps me become more self aware. So I take frequent breaks to get away from the computer.
I exercise for 1 hour daily.
I shut off the computer after 6 or 8 hours and stay offline.
I also stretch, eat well, and take cold showers (talk to your doctor before starting this) to take care of my fitness/wellness, which helps me establish balance between work/play and offline stuff.
Q10: What are some of your favorite blogging tools?
I am not huge on tools but do use Evergreen Post Tweeter, Tweetdeck and Hootsuite to spread the word.

Hi Ryan
I know you well already but good to know more things about you in this post; specially learning from struggling bloggers is a great way to be updated on latest trends.
Mi thanks so much for reading ๐

Hey Shantana, it’s nice to be here on your blog this morning. Oh it’s morning here in Nigeria, think about 06:53am and I am getting all pumped-up for the day…getting ready to travel to meet my sweetheart and rest on her bosom, you know what I am saying, right? ๐
Speaking about your interview with Ryan, think you did a really awesome job in picking and deciding to interview my homie, Ryan. You know he just got published on my website and I have been following him and his works since long time ago…he’s been such a huge motivation for me.
You know it;s not easy for me to do blog commenting, pitch and publish guest posts on top blogs on the web, consistently churn out quality contents for my virtual tribe members, my blog and pretty much everything that has to do with writing simply by reading and learning from Ryan Biddulph.
Back in the days before he made that all-important decision to start publishing his muses as ebook and publish’em on Amazon, he was in the habit of posting 5-7 times in a day and how I envied him back then. I surely couldn’t do that but I made sure to write daily as a result and it has helped me over the years.
So you see, Shantana, that I know Ryan inside-out. ๐ But I appreciate reading about him still. Think I will have to relaunch my blog’s interview section by interviewing Ryan and several other cool bloggers just as I have done in the past.
Once, again, nice initiative and nice interview questions. It’s a thumbs up from me to you. ๐
