Week 2 of the Australian Open is now underway, which means we are about to get into the quarter-finals. The women’s side of the draw was wide open, to begin with, and it has certainly played out that way. Over on the men’s side, we have seen a number of surprises along the way, but we are still looking at a potential rematch of last year’s final, with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer both still alive and well. Let’s take a look at how the Australian Open betting action for the quarter-finals may play out.

2018 Australian Open Betting Preview: Quarter-Finals

Australian Open Betting Preview for Men’s Quarter-Finals

In the top half of the bracket, we have Rafael Nadal going against #6 ranked Marin Cilic in what should be a very good match. Nadal has had little trouble navigating the first 4 rounds, while Cilic has had to put some work in, especially in the last round where he went 4 sets that included a pair of tie-breakers. I’m going with Nadal to move on.

Next up is one of the surprises, as we have unseeded Brit Kyle Edmund going up against Grigor Dimitrov, with the Bulgarian coming into this one after a classic match in the 4th round, which he won over Nick Kyrgios. Edmund is in uncharted territory at this point, and I think his fairytale run comes to an end here.

Speaking of fairy tales, we have another one in the bottom half of the draw, with unseeded American Tennys Sandgren set to meet another unseeded player in Hyeon Chung. Both men have taken down some big-name players on their way to the quarter-final, and their reward may be a semifinal match-up against Roger Federer. I’m taking Chung to win and move on.

The final game in the quarter-final sees defending champion Roger Federer go head to head with #19 seed Tomas Berdych. Both men cruised through the opening 4 rounds of the tournament, barely breaking a sweat to get here, but Berdych may finally have met his match with Federer up next.

Australian Open Betting Preview for Women’s Quarter-Finals

The top half of the women’s draw sees #1 ranked Simona Halep going against #6 Karolina Pliskova. Halep has dropped just one set but was lucky to survive in that game, a 3rd round match against Lauren Davies, where Halep won the deciding set 15-13. Pliskova came from a set down to win her 4th round match and is on for another tough one here. Halep wins and moves on.

The other game in this half of the draw is a good one, with a pair of ranked players hooking up. #21 ranked Angelique Kerber survived a scare in the 4th round but has only dropped one set thus far. She will face #17 Madison Keys who has been perfect to this point. Should be a very good match, but I like Keys to move on.

Simona Halep has become one of the 2018 Australian Open Betting favorites.

Unranked Elise Mertens has been great in this tournament, going through the first 4 rounds without dropping a set. She will have her toughest match yet against #4 Elina Svitolina, who survived a bit of a scare in the second round. Svitolina should be good enough to move on here.

Perhaps the clearest path to the semi-finals lies ahead of #2 Caroline Wozniacki, as she has torn through the opening 4 rounds and will now face unranked Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro, who has had a tough run, with 3 of her 4 games to this point going the distance. Wozniacki should win this one in straight sets.

The year 2018 has just started and people already begin speculating things about it. Just like the past decade which proved to be decisive for the digital world, many believe that this decade is also going to end on high for digital and all internet related industry. That is why I am taking a start on my writing this year with the ranking of the best windows SQL server hosting which has done wonders last year and looking promising to continue their services.

What is SQL?

Just for the beginners, the SQL is an abbreviation of Structured Query Language which on the request of other software apps store and retrieves the data. It is the technology that works with the windows hosting for your personal or business website. Due to the uniqueness of its nature, the hosting service you requires for the SQL is also separate and requires special treatments too. To give you a better idea of it, in the next lines you will find the top seven Windows SQL server hosting for the year 2018.

1.    1&1:

Just like the two ones in its name, the services of 1&1 is also up to its A-game. That is why instead of some other big players, this SQL hosting company is more famous in Europe. With the prices starting from a little 99p per month, the 1&1 provides an array of services which are very hard to find from any other company. For the icing on the cake, this hosting company offers some perks to its users too. For example, a free domain name with unlimited storage, SSL certifications that include all plans, free web-design software for the tweaks in your website and other many perks too.

2.    HostGator:

The reason why the HostGator has always been on top of all the Windows hosting with SQL servers is because of its accessibility, compatibility and easy to use features. With the hosting from HostGator, you will get the features like MSSQL Server 2008 R2, MySQL, Access Databases, FTP Accounts, Plesk control panel, site building tools and more than 4000 website templates without even charging a penny more. Not just this, the HostGator also provides its award-winning tech support to its users which is agile and carry out all the complaints within minutes to keep your website up and running.

3.    Ingic Host:

The way Ingic host excel in the last couple of years is impressive. The great thing about this SQL website hosting company is their equal standards of services to both small business owners and to enterprises. This company claimed to have a team of world-class engineers who have already spend a handful of time in numerous other hosting companies before joining them. One of their main forte is the secure website hosting which considered as the best to defend against all cyberattacks and malware.

4.    UK2:

As the name suggests, the UK2 is a London based web hosting service. If you want to keep your hosting expenses light in your pocket then the UK2 is an ideal choice for you. The hosting packages at the UK2 start from £1 per month but excluding the VAT. Another great thing about this website hosting company is that its unlimited package is also quite affordable as compared to other hosting services. With the unlimited package, you get unlimited emails, bandwidth, free SSL certification, free domain and a dedicated IP too.

Today, I am like the literary Ozzy Osbourne : I am unable to write anything other than my name (and I even had to get that sorted via autocorrect!), and I feel like the only words I can mutter are either “this is fuckin’ beautiful” or “What the fuck is this ant doing in my bosom?” .

Actually, I don’t sound that elaborate. More like ” fuuuuuuuck!”, cue bitchslapping of own body to make the ant jiggle.

However, my mind is fried in a happy way – I cannot complain !

So here are some pictures from a beach fire show I attended tonight in Koh Lanta : I was so impressed by the fearless kid! Personally, when I see a barbecue flaming too hard, I shy away like a Victorian prude seeing a kneecap for the first time.

Written madness will resume once I sober up from my bark at the sun episode today ( I went under the sun between 12 and 2, clever girl!)

I hope this warmed you up a bit, I heard it’s snowing everywhere?!

Mmmm might extend my trip…who needs savings when am saving on heating right now? 😉

With the 2017-18 NBA regular season approaching it’s annual all-star game and teams in both conferences revealing who they are and likely will be for the remainder of the season, now is a perfect time to take an in-depth look at the latest NBA Championship Odds!

The expert betting analysis that you’re about to get on some of the top favorites, middle of the pack contenders and my top longshot selection to pull off what would definitely be a monumental upset will give you the insight you need in order to maximize your championship future NBA title odds pick.

Now, let’s get started.

Updated NBA Championship Odds – January 20th Edition

Eastern Conference Playoff Picture

  • 1-Boston Celtics
  • 2-Toronto Raptors
  • 3-Cleveland Cavaliers
  • 4-Miami Heat
  • 5-Washington Wizards
  • 6-Milwaukee Bucks
  • 7-Indiana Pacers
  • 8-Philadelphia 76ers

Updated College Basketball Championship Odds – January 19th Edition

Western Conference Playoff Picture

  • 1-Golden State Warriors
  • 2-Houston Rockets
  • 3-San Antonio Spurs
  • 4-Minnesota Timberwolves
  • 5-Oklahoma City Thunder
  • 6-Portland Trail Blazers
  • 7-New Orleans Pelicans
  • 8-Los Angeles Clippers

Top Contenders NBA Championship Odds

  • Golden State Warriors: 10/17
  • Cleveland Cavaliers: 5/1
  • Houston Rockets: 9/1
  • Boston Celtics: 10/1
  • San Antonio Spurs: 14/1
  • Oklahoma City Thunder: 16/1

The Warriors (37-9) were already the best team in basketball before adding unselfish superstar Kevin Durant. Now, they ‘straight own’ the Cavaliers and look like a lock to win it all again this season, barring like five massive disasters. LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers (27-17) may make it to the NBA Finals, but this year, they look seriously vulnerable, so that’s not a given. Even if they do make it out of the east, read the above sentences on Golden State. They’re not beating the far superior Warriors!

James Harden and the Houston Rockets (31-12) look like they can beat any team in the league – except Golden State. What?! Kyrie Irving said he ain’t nobody’s damned ‘Robin,’ to LeBron James’ Batman and he’s proved it! The Celtics (34-12) have a future that is so bright right now, that you need to wear sunglasses when looking at them. The Spurs (30-16) are going to win 50 games this season (again), but make no mistake about it, they’re not championship-caliber anymore.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (25-20) might have Rusell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony, but only one of the three (George) plays any defense and the Thunder will be an afterthought once the playoffs get underway and they have to face an elite team that actually plays together!

Pretenders NBA Championship Odds

  • Minnesota Timberwolves: 25/1
  • Toronto Raptors: 25/1
  • Milwaukee Bucks: 40/1
  • Miami Heat: 66/1
  • Washington Wizards: 66/1

The Timberwolves (29-18) are looking pretty damned good right now and I think they could challenge for a berth in the Western Conference Finals. I would just repeat the previous sentence about Minnesota for the Raptors, but then I keep remembering they don’t have much heart and anyone willing to throw down if it comes to that, outside of Serge Ibaka that is.

The NBA Championship Odds for Minnesota are increasing week after week.

Look, it’s not going to happen for Milwaukee or Miami this season – nor next, unless both franchises somehow make a blockbuster trade. The Bucks have become too dependent upon the Greek Freak and the Heat need a superstar to go with their other group of very good players.

I picked the Wizards to beat my beloved Boston Celtics last season and I’m going to say they are still offering some excellent value as a whopping 66/1 pick, simply because they have a complete roster. Of course, the Wizards are the brightest bunch of ballers around, but they have heart, a pair of all-stars and a quartet of other very good players, so there’s that!

The Rest of the NBA Championship Odds

  • Detroit Pistons: 100/1
  • Denver Nuggets: 125/1
  • Indiana Pacers: 125/1
  • Philadelphia 76ers: 125/1
  • Portland Trail Blazers: 125/1
  • New Orleans Pelicans: 200/1
  • New York Knicks: 250/1
  • Utah Jazz: 250/1
  • Charlotte Hornets: 250/1
  • Los Angeles Clippers: 250/1
  • Chicago Bulls: 500/1
  • Los Angeles Lakers: 500/1
  • Memphis Grizzlies: 500/1
  • Orlando Magic: 500/1
  • Phoenix Suns: 500/1
  • Brooklyn Nets: 1000/1
  • Sacramento Kings: 1000/1
  • Atlanta Hawks: 2500/1
  • Dallas Mavericks: 2500/1

I have been travelling solo since I became of legal age – and was legally allowed to avoid people. Harsh? Maybe, but after having been suffocated for most of my teen years, being able to escape and indulge in exotic escapades (starting in tropical Leicester, UK!) has always been a blessing.

I just love the freedom that comes with travelling solo – and this is not only about the freedom of farting or deciding which statue to do a gangnam style pose in front of ; I am a loner by nature, so to extend that beyond the confines of my mundane life is natural to me. It anchors me to life. Like, I totally relate to this boat below ! (snapped this fellow in the Andamana Resort)

Of course, I love going on a trip with friends but to do a solo escapade when life gets to you is … priceless. [actually worth a 3 months contract travelling down the worst train line in the UK and being surrounded by plastic dildos].

This is my second time in Thailand, and I decided to bypass Bangkok and Fuckit (I hate Phuket) to head straight to Ao Nang in the Krabi Province, to then head to Koh Lanta, Koh Phangan and Had Yao. This post will be about this first leg of the trip.

Not far from Ao Nang, there is a private beach called Andamana resort which I decided to pay a visit to. This was organised through my hotel, as they have a shuttle bus for taking their customers to this resort. One word and one emoji to describe the place : peace ✌🏼 !

It was very relaxing and calming. Case in point : no grimace spotted!

To be honest, It is definitely not the best beach I have been to in Thailand and elsewhere (I love to rock but I hate rocks and stones) but for the empty factor it’s good. Introverts, this is your kinda beach! [if ye like a rocky path] After the chilling out bit, always comes the hungry bit ! I opted for not a chicken pad thai, and it was tasty … especially with the accompanying mango daiquiri!

And of course, like the masked crusader with a bikini, I am leaving my mark for 5 minutes of Thai fame !

So that was it about this beach!

Now how about Ao Nang itself? Well to be perfectly honest, it is just like any other touristic place in Thailand or elsewhere.

See for yourself !

This was quite funny in a dark way, initially it read like a menu : fancy murder or assault for dinner luv? Same price innit! And of course, I have a silly humour so i do love me some bad Engrish 😉

A Thai hearse and a Thai tuk tuk : transportation for the living and the dead is catered for in one (blurry)shot … the hearse was speeding!!

The tourist and thunderella’s trap … I do like wandering around and buying crap. In any country really.

This might be good for my next job? Mmmm….

Best. Pancakes. Ever.

As I scheduled it to be, the first few days of this trip were mainly to relax and be a poseur by the pool (gotta be done once in your life!!!). Indeed, this area isn’t the best for sightseeing ( saying that you can do boat trips from pretty much anywhere in Thailand) but THAT POOL though !!!

Now am on my way to some more relaxing and posing – and sightseeing because I’d like to think I am a cultivated poseur [still reeling at the peeps who asked for chips in a classic Thai restaurant] in Koh Lanta.

*see you soon 🙂

The AIM Institute, a nonprofit committed to building the a community of entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and talent in the midwest, gave the regions of Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas the moniker “Silicon Prairie.” (Silicon Prairie, I die.)

In addition, in its first-ever “State of the Silicon Prairie Report” in June 2017, the AIM Institute named Kansas City, St. Louis, and Columbia, Missouri as second-, third-, and seventh-best cities for tech startups.

Appropriately, the Missouri startup community is much invested in creating quality, high-paying jobs that leverage regional industries right within the state.

According to the 2014 U.S. Census Bureau’s analysis of economic growth and stability, St. Louis saw a 9.7 percent increase in the total number of newer firms. Kansas City saw a 8.4 percent increase; by “newer firms”, the bureau means “firms operating for no more than three years.” (Startups, in other words.) The implication there is that startups and hungry entrepreneurs leverage the cities’ “greater fluidity of resources, such as capital and talent.”

Back in 2013, the Wall Street Journal reported that a “coalition of local leaders from both the public and private sectors” of St. Louis revealed “plans to raise $100 million over five years to invest in and support local startups.” With that seed funding, the city had obvious interested in establishing the resources and incentives to encourage new business and foster entrepreneurship.

In present-day happenings, Missouri governor Eric Greitens launched the Innovation Task Force in June 2017 to “spur startup activity and innovation” within the state. According to Startland News, “the task force will engage the community [across Missouri] by hosting workshops in St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, Columbia, and Cape Girardeau.”

Let’s take a look at the tech startup scenes in three Missouri cities: Columbia, Kansas City, and St. Louis.

The Missouri Innovation Center, a nonprofit organization that provides support for high-growth business ventures, is based in Columbia. Specifically, it is a life science business incubator. The center desires to contribute to the growth of mid-Missouri; it does that by offering mentoring services and financial support, as well as leveraging research-based innovation. And in 2016, the Center developed the Missouri Tech Accelerator Fund to do just that: help entrepreneurs launch market-changing companies in mid-Missouri.

Kansas City

Kansas City is home to recognizable companies such as Hallmark, Sprint, Cerner and Russell Stover Candies. And back in 2013, the Huffington Post reported that Kansas City has a “growing tech density and … burgeoning startup activity [which] demonstrates that the city has viability as a technology edestination.” Fast-forward to 2017, and the Kauffman Index of Startup Activity has “found that for the third consecutive year, entrepreneurial activity in the Kansas City metro has grown.”

Kansas City is also home to Think Big Partners, a self-identified hybrid of technology-focused accelerator, innovation center and coworking space. Think Big Partners’ community works to help early-stage businesses utilize the resources to launch and grow successfully.

St. Louis

St. Louis is home to a slew of incubators and innovation hubs.

  • Accelerate St. Louis is an incubator for entrepreneurs who wish to tap into both the St. Louis startup ecosystem and St. Louis’ resources. Through Accelerate St. Louis, those who are launching or growing their businesses can find a community through which to develop their venture, attract capital and discover significant networking opportunities.
  • SixThirty is a fintech venture fund that focuses on targeting late-seed fintech startups to so-call “enroll” them in a business development program. Cheekily, the organization is named for the 630 feet that make up the height and width of St. Louis’ famous Gateway Arch. SixThirty also has another seed fund, SixThirty CYBER, that has a specific focus on cultivating cybersecurity startups.
  • Arch Grants is a nonprofit organization that provides grants and pro bono support services to entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of their startups. The organization funds startups who agree to locate their business in St. Louis for at least one year; this is part of its “aggressive effort to inspire the next generation of employers, civic leaders and philanthropists for St. Louis.”
  • T-REX is both a coworking space and a tech incubator located in downtown St. Louis. In addition to supplying enterprise space for startups, T-REX also works alongside similarly minded organizations such as the aforementioned SixThirty and Arch Grants.
